I know when I was growing up I was one of the uncountable children who caught the Lego Bug, be it saving villages from a Lego town with a Lego Sea King, or fighting aliens with Lego laser guns on forbidden planet, it always bought me hours of fun either on my own or with friends. So I was not surprised to catch the Minecraft bug.
To me Minecraft is taking the Lego format out of the real world and creating a virtual world, using the same sort of blocks and shapes that was Lego. Our lad plays it for the fighting and the adventure, but me, me, I just build and build, be it a volcano to a crashed UFO, it’s my world taken from my imagination and changed into Lego shapes. The time flies by, especially when the day is done and I have a few hours to kill, saves turning into a couch Zombie brain dead in font of repeated shows.
Its great way for children to develop their imagination, as well as reading and writing skills, especially spelling, when the make signs or big letter statues of their names. Of course it can be as private as you like, where only your footprints tread or as public as the server can maintain so its a free for all.
Thank you so much to the inventor(s) of Minecraft for bringing back my lost childhood imagination.
